Shine Night Walk London 2024

MY STORY

Fundraising for research into earlier diagnosis and finding a cure for this awful disease has always been something close to my heart. However, this year it is more so than ever… Our family alone, in recent months, has experienced the incredibly sad loss of my Uncle, loss of a friend and also seen a very dear family friend receive a terminal diagnosis. This disease sadly affects most of us at some point during our lifetime, in one way or another. Cancer Research UK states “1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime”… a shocking and scary statistic! We’ve taken part in several fundraising events for Cancer Research UK previously… Race for Life, Relay for Life and the Shine Night Walk Half Marathon twice. However, this year we are taking on our biggest challenge yet… the Shine Night Walk FULL Marathon! Please help us raise awareness for earlier diagnosis, which can lead to a better prognosis and raise funds for vital research, to hopefully one day find a cure!
