Canary Wharf - Security Team Three Peaks Challenge
Canary Wharf Security Team
Takes on the National Three Peaks Challenge
Proudly Sponsored by Dakin Security Services Ltd
On Friday 26th September, a group
of determined individuals from Canary Wharf Security Team will be taking on the
formidable National Three Peaks Challenge — climbing the highest mountains in Scotland
(Ben Nevis – 4,413 ft), England (Scafell Pike – 3,209 ft), and Wales (Snowdon –
3,560 ft) — all within 24 hours.
That’s 23 miles of rugged terrain,
over 10,000 feet of ascent, and hundreds of miles of travel.
Why We’re Doing It
This challenge will be a
wonderful team-building exercise and a great test of endurance. Beyond strengthening our team, however, we are
undertaking this challenge to raise funds for two incredible causes that are
deeply personal to our team — causes that have touched the lives of our
colleagues and friends.
Lymphoma Action UK
Lymphoma Action provides trusted
information and support to people affected by lymphoma — the UK’s most common
blood cancer. This was made even more personal when the partner of our colleague,
Rhys, was diagnosed with Lymphoma last year.
Regarding their experience in
receiving support from Lymphoma Action UK, Rhys said, “When my wife Mia was
diagnosed with lymphoma last year, Lymphoma Action became a lifeline. Their
resources helped us stay informed and hopeful during the darkest times. Their
support made it possible for us to face the unknown with strength and even humour.
I can’t recommend them highly enough.”
We are honoured to be able to raise funds for a charity that provided such a high level of support to our colleague and his family.
The Royal Anglian Regiment
Charity – In Support of Martin ‘Nobby’ Alderson
We are also raising funds through
the Royal Anglian Regiment Charity to support our friend and former colleague,
Martin ‘Nobby’ Anderson.
Martin is a decorated veteran and
former police officer who suffered a catastrophic stroke in October 2023 that
left him with locked-in syndrome. After 20 months of hospitalisation and
rehabilitation, Martin is finally home — but still without the means to leave
it.
His family has worked tirelessly
to adapt their home, but now they need help funding a powered wheelchair and adapted
vehicle so Martin can regain his independence and reconnect with the world he
served so selflessly.
“Martin’s mind is as sharp as ever, but without mobility, he’s now locked inside his home. Your support can help give him back the freedom he fought to protect for others.”
How You Can Help
We have a goal of raising £10,000
in total to be split between these two life-changing charities. With your help,
we can achieve this and more. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us
closer to our goal. Whether you’re inspired by the physical challenge, the
causes, or the people behind them — we’d be incredibly grateful for your
support.
Thank you for supporting us and the charities that mean so much to us.

On Saturday 9th August most of the gang took on the Lewes and Ouse Valley Circular hike, racking up an enormous 15 miles. It was a beautiful day, there were some burnt body parts and sore feet but a fantastic training session with the group! Well done all.
Steve completed 9 miles of trekking on 3rd August at Bolton Abbey, Hare Head Side and River Wharfe Circular! All rounded off nicely with a well deserved cold pint in the pub! Nice work Steve!
On Saturday 19th July Carl, Anna and Moose the dog completed an impressive 18 km hike in the beautiful Wye Valley in Wales, including riverside pathway and some steep valley hills. A stern effort from this trio, a great training session.
On Saturday 19th July Mark also embraced the British weather on a five hour coastal trek in Essex. Despite being on the hunt for hills he was met with very flat terrain. It was an ideal way of clocking some solid miles and he also made some four-legged friends along the way.
On Thursday 17th July Stuart took on the Belton Hills stairs in Leigh on Sea, completing five rounds up and down with a 25kg rucksack for preparation. His longest trek to date was an impressive 22.7 km at Edwards Hall Park and Hockley Woods (during 29-degree heat during the June heatwave). Great effort Stuart.
Emily 'The Powerhouse' Dallas and her partner conquered the Hallow 12 Parish Challenge on 13th July, racking up an gruelling but impressive 31 miles over 12 hours. The course was hilly and they were in the middle of corn fields in the heat of the day. A very well done Emily!
On Saturday 5th July Charlotte took on the Box Hill hike in Surrey in slightly drizzly conditions.
On Thursday 3rd July Carl & Anna went to the picturesque South Devon coastal path to get some mileage under their belts.
On Saturday 14th June, Garry, Mia, Rhys, Carl, Anna Emily Mark and Moose the dog met at Box Hill in Surrey and completed a training hike. This was our first hike training as a group and a great opportunity to test our skills and our kit on a beautiful trail.
On Saturday 7th June, Charlotte and her dad travelled to Wales and climbed to the top of Snowdon.
