LORD ROOK IS RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON FOR WARM WELCOME
No one in our community should be left out in the cold.
That’s why I’m running the London Marathon to support the Warm Welcome Centre at the Lantern Hub, one of 6,000 Warm Welcome Spaces in the UK.
It’s a simple idea. A warm space, a hot drink, and a friendly face for anyone who needs it. For some, it’s about practical help replacing a sense of helplessness. For others, it’s about connection, reducing those feelings of isolation. For many, it’s both.
Please give generously and offer a Warm Welcome today. Thanks for everything.

Hi friends, I owe you all a huge thank you and a big apology.
Firstly, thanks so much for all your support and encouragement for yesterday’s London Marathon. A wonderful day and a PB to boot.
Secondly, apologies but I severely underestimated your generosity. When we started out, the aspiration was to raise a few thousand pounds for the Warm Welcome Space at the Lantern Hub. So far, we have raised £12,800.
Thanks to you, many people will get a Warm Welcome in the months to come. All I can say is THANK YOU.
Obviously, if anyone would still like to give, you’re most welcome and your gifts may get us across the £13k mark. What a finish line! No pressure but lots of thanks for all your encouragement and support.

Hi friends,
In 24 hours time I’ll be running London. And by that I mean undertaking 26.2 miles of sweaty sightseeing with 59,000 fellow tourists, many of whom will also be thinking, next time I’ll take the bus!
In all seriousness, I’m so grateful for your generous support. Having left previous fundraising targets in the dust, we’ve raised over £5k with several hours left to run. Thanks to you, many more vulnerable people will experience a Warm Welcome at the Lantern Hub.

Update - 19th April
With the London Marathon one week away, I am totally blown away by the generosity of so many friends and family. So far, we've raised over £4,000! With that in mind we're raising the bar one more time. Let's see if we can get to £5,000 and provide many more Warm Welcomes for those in need. Thanks so much for your kind words and financial support. Every penny counts and every donation will help the wonderful team at the Lantern Hub make a real difference in people's lives.
UPDATE - Sunday 12th April
I am running the London Marathon on April 26th. Over the last few days, thanks to your generosity to Warm Welcome, we’ve beaten three successive fundraising targets. Thank you so much for all your help so far. And a big shout out to mercymission.org.uk, for match funding so many donations.
With two weeks to go and so many generous friends, we’re increasing the target to £4k! Every penny given will help to provide a warm welcome to someone who needs it, through the Lantern Hub, increasing connection and reducing isolation.
