On 23 April I am running the London Marathon
I wasn’t planning on doing this but was talked into doing
so!
On 23 April I am running the London Marathon – after watching
last year’s event I decided to throw my hat into the ballot and I got lucky(?)
I do run regularly and have done marathons before but the last
one I did was 13 years ago – despite that I’m a better runner now than I was
then and am aiming to finish in under 4 hours.
Up until 2 weeks ago I would have said training was going to
plan and I did a training run of 20.7 miles fairly comfortably in 3 hours and 1
minute, but since then I’ve been hampered by a niggling tendon strain in my
foot and then snow this last weekend when I was planning another 20+mile
run.
Despite that, I’m not giving up because other people don’t
have that luxury and have to keep going – which is where I am after your
support (and I absolutely appreciate many people will be struggling themselves
in the current climate and may have donation fatigue)
I am raising money for both the National Autistic Society and JDRF (Junior Diabetes Research Foundation)
– my son has both conditions – so if you are able to donate any help will be
gratefully received and will help me think my training runs do have a purpose
after all when I’m just tempted to roll over and go back to sleep!
Thank you
