Team Great Glen Way. Across Scotland & back again by Boot, Boat & Bike!
In October 2022 we took on the mammoth Try - athlon across Scotland AND back again in 9 days, by boot, boat & bike. We completed this but due to 80mph winds we were unable to climb Ben Nevis on our final day.
So on Saturday 28th May 2023 we will go back to Scotland to walk Ben Nevis. Please help us reach our final target of £15,000 for these two wonderful charities!

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women the UK with one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes. It is very here and now and in our lives. In 2020 Cindy, Laurie, Nicky & Sue lost a dear friend Lorette to Breast Cancer far too young. It was Lorette's wish that her friends all get a private mammogram in their 40's 'just to be sure'. We did and it was the mammogram which found Nicky had breast cancer. Nicky has had a double masectomy earlier this year and has been amazing throughout her treatment, just a few months on she will be competing in this challenge. Nickys advice to others, to get checked has now found another friend has breast cancer and will be starting treatment very soon, other members of this group have friends and family with breast cancer. This disease has to be stopped...this is all too close to home. Your donations will help fund the research needed to help fund cutting edge projects to help save lives...YOU CAN HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE, PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY.
PROJECT PERU will receive 50% donations we raise
Project Peru is a small, lively, totally voluntary UK-based charity offering food, clothes, shelter, education, health and fun to those who live in the children’s refuge in the desert shanty towns of Lima, and giving ongoing and practical support to others who live in extreme poverty in the wider community. The refuge in Zapallal cares for around 50 children and offers real opportunities to children and staff alike.
Cindy & Laurie competing in this challenge have worked first hand with Carole & David who set up this amazing charity. 100% of the funds raised goes to support the children and charity. Carole and David dedicate their lives supporting these children, it cost £7000 per month to run the childrens refuge and we would love to raise this for them. In 2019 a group of women raised £12000 for them by walking 192 miles across wales doing the Offas Dyke Path. Back in 2006 Laurie joined a volunteer team and went to Peru and the childrens refuge itself and helped build a soup kitchen. The money you donate helps first hand and will make a real difference to this charity, please give generously. Find out more about the organisation: projectperu.org.uk
