Tandem Skydive Team
Firstly, I would like to say a massive THANK YOU to the 7 amazing volunteers, who have kindly offered to jump out of a plane in support of our Campaign. Michael did a skydive in Los Angeles several years ago, and said it was an incredible experience. If you are feeling the nerves as you sit in the plane waiting to jump, harness his courage and go for it!😬

This event is in support of The Thames Hospice, a charity which has helped our family greatly over the past few years. At the young age of 27, you should never expect to come into contact or need Hospice care. You may be suprised to learn that Hospice care is there for everyone 16 years or older, not just the elderly.
Our first interaction with Thames Hospice came when they visited us at home. Michael had been given a terminal diagnosis and the introduction was made. We were terrified at the thought of Hospice/palliative care. I remember one of the nurses telling me to think of it as having lots of caring arms wrapped us. She was absolutely right, and we quickly came to learn that the compassion and care they offer, at the worst time in your life, really is second to none. They provide a range of services including Counselling, In-patient care, 24 hour telephone support and home nursing care. We needed all their help and simply wouldn’t have coped without them.
I think it is probably true to say, that most of us don’t like to, or have no reason to think about Hospice care. As such we are unaware of the incredible work and care they offer, only made possible by charitable support and generosity. From personal experience, I can’t speak highly enough about them and everything they do, with such thought, empathy and dignity. They need our help in order to help others.
It costs £38,363 each day to run the Hospice 365 days of the year.
Every pound you donate will help The Thames Hospice to support another family, just like ours, going through desperate times. Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
If you are sponsoring a particular team member, please could we ask that you include their name when you make your donation.
Once again, thank you very much.
