Phil & Mark’s Walk from Winchester to Rome
This Easter we start walking from Winchester to Rome following the Pilgrims’ Way to Canterbury and then the Via Francigena through France and Switzerland over the Alps to Italy and Rome. The Walk is over 2200 km and we hope to complete it in 3 months.
The Walk is in tribute to our mothers who both died of ovarian cancer. Our hope is to raise awareness of the Eve Appeal that provides unrivalled work to support research into potential cures for gynaecological cancers as well as supporting people who are affected by them. We also hope to raise as much money as we can for it and for Sobell House and Bolton Hospices each of which provided utterly invaluable nursing and palliative care for our mothers in their last few weeks.
