Your donation to Richard, Tom, Martin & Kirsty are running the 2024 London and Manchester Marathon’s!

Richard O’Brien has just celebrated 10 years at Royal Mail will be taking on the London Marathon 2024!  Based in West Yorkshire working as a Pricing Manager in the Central Pricing Team, Richard is a keen runner and has always wanted to run the London Marathon!

Richard is delighted to have been given the opportunity to run the London marathon and support Royal Mails partnership with BHF.

Tom Legg has worked at Royal Mail for nearly 8 years now and is over the moon that he got accepted to run the London Marathon for British Heart Foundation, when he applied through their public ballot. He'll be running in memory of his Grampy, who he lost a few years ago to a heart attack. Tom's always wanted to do something to push himself out of his comfort zone, while raising as much money as he can for a great cause and also making his daughters proud! By doing something as brilliant as the London Marathon, Tom knows it will be something that he will forever remember. Tom hopes to raise as much as possible for an amazing charity and make people close to him very proud! Thank you for your support!

Martin Williamson, 50, lives in Bolton with his wife, 2 children and 2 Cockerpoos. Martin has worked for Royal Mail for 15 years and is currently working as a traffic office manager for Distribution at Warrington Mail Centre.

Martin has previously ran 6 Marathons, 3 in Manchester, 1 in Chester and 2 in London the last of which was in 2016. After 2 knee surgeries, 7 years and having hit the big 5 – 0 this year he decided it was time to get his act together and get fit. Martin has always wanted to complete 10 Marathons before “Retiring from the sport” so decided to dust off the running shoes and get back out on the streets.

When the opportunity came up to run for Royal Mail’s Charity Partner British Heart Foundation, Martin had a look at the work the Charity does and felt it would be a perfect match for the challenge he needed whilst raising much needed funds for such a worthwhile a cause.

Kirsty Richardson, 33 and mother of two, has been working at Royal Mail since May 2022 as delivery day off cover.

Based in Dereham DO, she will be running the Manchester Marathon 2024 as part of team BHF. Kirsty chose to run for BHF as its a cause very close to her heart, as her partner at the age of 25 underwent open heart surgery to have valve replacement.

Kirsty has been running for about 4 years, and ran the Brighton Marathon 2021 and London Marathon 2022, where she was also on Team BHF! She wanted to run the Manchester Marathon as it’s a marathon she hasn’t done before.
