Your donation to Rutland Water - 17 mile Challenge

On Saturday 10 May, to mark the 80th anniversary, the Cadent Military Community have organised a physical challenge to run, walk, or cycle the 17 miles around Rutland Water while also raising funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. To secure your place please pay your £15 registration fee here.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers – which is one of the chosen charities for the Cadent Foundation Community Fund – supports bereaved military children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Forces. It was founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott after her husband Lee "Scotty" Scott was killed in 2009 while on active service in Afghanistan.

On the day of the event, entrants will arrive in plenty of time for an 8am group warm up with a personal trainer before taking to the line for an 8:30am start.

Volunteers will be situated around the course to ensure that entrants have plenty of drinks as they take on the challenge and the plan is for everyone to have completed the course by 6:30pm at the latest.

Organisers will be located at Rutland Waters Education Centre where belongings can also be safely stored throughout the day. Visitors are also more than welcome to come along and support.
