Your donation to Carl Thompson and friends conquer Everest Base Camp April/May 2023

In April myself (Carl Thompson, pictured at the top) and my friends Caroline, Josh and Ian are trekking up the South side of the base of Everest.   I am asking for sponsorship in support of 2 charities that are close to my heart.  The first charity is Dementia UK.  This charity provides vital, specialist support to families facing dementia.  There are over 200 types of dementia (including Alzheimer's disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Vascular dementia) and its estimated one million people in the UK will be living with dementia by 2025.  The second charity is the UK Sepsis Trust in memory of our friends Dan Hallam (pictured bottom left) and Mark Roberts (pictured bottom right). Sepsis kills around 48,000 people a year (more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined) yet it is difficult to spot and stop.  The UK Sepsis Trust raises public awareness, trains health professionals and supports sepsis survivors.

ALL donations received through this page are split 50:50 between the 2 charities. More info about the good work they do can be found on their websites here:
