K2 Basecamp Trek for the British Heart Foundation
This July, I’ll be taking on the challenge of trekking to K2 Basecamp to honour my parents, raise awareness of heart disease, and support the British Heart Foundation’s life-saving research – a remote and breath-taking journey through the Karakoram mountains to the base of the world’s second-highest and one of the most dangerous peaks.
I’ve been fascinated by mountains and heights since I was a child. For me, this trek is not just about the physical challenge – it’s about stepping out of my comfort zone and proving to myself that with determination, anything is possible.
The trek will take me through some of the most rugged and remote terrain on Earth – covering over 100km on foot, crossing glaciers, rocky valleys, and high-altitude passes, with nights spent camping under the stars. It’s physically demanding and mentally testing, but I’m ready to take it on.
Through this journey, I want to raise awareness about K2, its incredible natural beauty, and the growing impact of climate change on these fragile environments.
Most importantly, I’m doing this to support the British Heart Foundation – a cause that’s deeply personal to me. I lost both my parents to heart-related conditions, and I want to honour their memory by helping to fund life-saving research that could prevent other families from going through the same loss.
My goal is to raise £1,000, and every contribution – no matter the size – will help make a difference.
Thank you for your support.
