We have set up this fundraising Campaign to mark what would have been Michael’s 30th Birthday in March this year.

Hopefully you were lucky enough to have met Michael, and whether that was 30 minutes, 30 hours, 30 days or more, we believe that he will have touched your heart in some way.

If Michael were still with us, I’m sure many of you would have celebrated his birthday with him, perhaps over a beer, a meal or a night out.  In light of this, we have established the 30 for 30 Campaign, aiming to raise £30,000 throughout the year for Michael’s chosen charities: Sarcoma UK, Macmillan, Thames Hospice and The Children’s Eye Cancer Trust.  Additional information about each charity is available in this link to Michael’s story.

In support of these wonderful charities, would you consider contributing to this Campaign?  Could you participate in an event, form a team, or encourage friends/colleagues to make a donation?  Perhaps you could bake and sell 30 cakes, walk/run/swim 30km/miles in 30 days or donate 30 minutes of your daily pay (the time you might have had a chat over a coffee with Michael)?  Would your Company consider Match funding your own efforts?  

The possibilities are endless, and together, we can make a real difference whilst remembering the enduring spirit of Michael.  I know he would have signed up straight away and probably opted for a skydive or similar! (If you want to join our skydiving team, please let me know.)

Whilst requests for sponsorship and donations can be overwhelming, we would ask you to remember what Michael meant to you, what he added to your life, what you miss about him or what he would have done to help you. Please join us in our efforts to mark his birthday in a positive way and help these incredibly supportive charities to continue their amazing work.

We have been extremely fortunate to secure MATCH FUNDING from Orange Aero on their 30th anniversary, potentially doubling our target to £60,000 for these wonderful charities.  Thank you Orange Aero.

*** NEWS FLASH *** 1st July 2024 

Since starting this campaign in February, with your amazing support, we have raised almost £50,000!!  With the further promise of match funding until we reach £60,000, every penny you donate will continue to be doubled, meaning that the four incredible charities we support will receive £30,000 each!
